To foster and support athletes and encourage increased participation in the sport of Track & Field


There are lessons to teach the basic athletic skills for each event. Young runners are given the foundation for learning good running form and becoming skilled athletes in general:

Introduction to Track and Field (Running forms and Techniques)

* Starts

* Sprints (100m)

* Sprints (Further development) (Sprint training)

* 200m, 300m and 400m races (running the curve, endurance, pacing)

* Long distance (600m, 1500m) (Running Mechanics)

* Long and High Jumps (technique and landing)

* Shot Put (Grip, throwing technique)

* Relays (techniques and baton exchanges)

Lessons and training sessions also incorporate teamwork, bonding, leadership skills and instilling values such as sportsmanship and perseverance.

Schedule: (P4 - P6) Tuesdays, 3pm - 5pm (Term 2: Wk 1 - Wk6, Wk 10)

CCA Suspension Term 2, Week 7 - Week 9 for SA1

  Duration: 2 hours / Session

Venue: Level 1, School Field/Basketball Court
